ABOUT THE ARTIST JOLIC
Jolic is a self-taught artist whose semi-abstract works are born from an instinctive dialogue between emotion, matter, and light. In the calm of her studio in Grenville-sur-la-Rouge,
she transforms nature and feelings in vibrant canvases, where each trace is a surge of the heart.

BIOGRAPHY
Trained in graphic design and architecture, Jolic began her career in advertising before turning, as a self-taught artist, to painting and sculpture.
Her intuitive, emotionally driven approach to creation has earned her growing recognition. Inspired by light, wind, the migratory rhythm of birds and the organic presence of nature, she creates powerful and sensitive works.
Her studio, nestled in Grenville-sur-la-Rouge, Quebec, is a space where instinct and imagination engage in a continuous and evolving dialogue.
ARTISTIC STATEMENT
In the calm of her studio, Jolic engages in an intuitive dialogue with the canvas, shaping rich textures with her bare hands on deep, dark backgrounds. Driven by a balance between restraint and intensity, her large-format, semi-abstract canvases are distinguished by controlled undulations and subtle luminous contrasts. Turquoise, azure blue, and gold brush against the darkness to reveal its composition.
In his large, semi-abstract formats, Jolic depicts sailboats sailing against the current, sometimes painted upside down. A unique way to surprise the eye and infuse the canvas with a breath of freedom.
The cracked textures, a signature of his work, invite both visual and tactile exploration. From close up and from a distance, the material expresses itself and reveals its multiple layers.
Jolic masters the art of restraint—knowing when to stop, letting the canvas breathe, in its proper simplicity, without ever weighing it down.
